One of the large Ukrainian agricultural holdings turned to OVERSEER with the task of automating the control of grain unloading during the harvest. The main requirement was to exclude the possibility of unloading the crop into third-party transport and to ensure full control of all operations in the GPS monitoring system.
To implement this task, the “Own-Alien” solution was implemented, which automatically identifies vehicles, allows unloading only into authorized equipment and records all events in the monitoring system.
The following tasks were set before OVERSEER specialists:
- automatically determine whether an authorized vehicle is near the combine;
- allow unloading only into “your” equipment;
- ensure receipt of complete information about the operation of the machines in the GPS monitoring system;
- minimize the impact of the human factor during harvesting.
REALIZATION
To implement the system, a Bitrek Connect equipment complex was used, which included the Bitrek DVR S261 Connect telematics module, the Bitrek BL03 Connect Bluetooth module, the Bitrek RL02 Connect relay module, the Connect splitter, Bitrek contactless tags, and an alarm button.
The BITREK Connect equipment complex ensures quick connection of all system components, automatic recognition of authorized equipment using contactless tags, and transmission of all events to the GPS monitoring system. If necessary, the solution is easily supplemented with new modules and adapted to different types of equipment.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Contactless tags are installed on vehicles that transmit their unique identifier. When the vehicle approaches the combine, the Bluetooth module automatically detects its presence. If the equipment is authorized, the system allows unloading. If an unauthorized vehicle or vehicle without a registered tag is nearby, unloading will be blocked.
All events are simultaneously transmitted to the OVERSEER GPS monitoring system, where the dispatcher can view:
- unloading location;
- start and end times of the operation;
- unloading duration;
- vehicle movement route;
- machine operating parameters received via the CAN bus;
- history of all operations performed.
Thus, the company receives a completely transparent process of transporting the crop – from the combine to the vehicle.
RESULT

After the project was implemented, the agricultural holding received a tool that allows:
- eliminate unauthorized unloading of grain;
- automate control of interaction between combines and transport;
- reduce the risk of crop losses;
- monitor the operation of equipment in real time;
- receive a detailed history of all operations in the monitoring system;
- minimize the impact of the human factor.
The dispatcher can not only track the movement of equipment on the map, but also analyze reports on each unloading and technical parameters of the machines, which greatly simplifies the control of field work and internal accounting.
The “Own-Alien” system is just one of OVERSEER’s comprehensive solutions, which is successfully used in the agricultural sector. The company also implements solutions for GPS monitoring, fuel control, video monitoring and automation of transport and special equipment according to the needs of each enterprise.
